What actually goes into a 2-minute meal

What actually goes into a 2-minute meal

“2-minute meal” sounds like a frozen packet from a factory. It isn’t one — and once you see what it actually is, cooking a school lunch at 6am starts to look like the harder, older way of doing this.

Same meal, cooked earlier

It’s the same school meal as any other day on the menu — cooked properly, then delivered to your home the evening before instead of the morning of. The only thing left for the next morning is two minutes on the heat.

Why this is becoming the normal way

Cooking a school lunch at 6am, half awake, with a bus or a bell to catch, was never actually necessary — it was just the only option. Once there’s a kitchen doing the cooking the evening before, there’s no real reason to keep doing it the hard way every single morning.

One rule that actually matters

Heat it through properly before it goes in the lunchbox — never send it cold. That’s the one part of this that isn’t optional.

Stop setting an early alarm for something a kitchen can already do for you — see tonight’s 2-minute meals.
